Director, Asia and Middle East Program, Botanic Gardens Conservation International

CASE STUDY: Facilitation of national and international programs and meetings

From late 2002 till mid 2006, I worked as the Director Middle East and Asia for Botanic Gardens Conservation International’s (BGCI) “Investing in Nature” Program.  Although my three staff and I worked in countries ranging from Jordan to Japan, I was based in BGCI’s London office within the grounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.  My staff, Anle Tieu (China program) and Bian Tan (SE Asia program), were based at the Singapore Botanic Garden and Junko Oikawa (Japan) was based in Germany.  A very large part of my program was in India with the National Botanical Research Institute and in Jordan with the newly established Royal Botanic Gardens, Jordan.
